More than 3500 different sections in nine color-coded rooms cover literature, children's and young adult, science fiction and fantasy, mystery, romance, graphic novels, history, politics, religion, heath and wellness, philosophy, entertainment, cooking, gardening, new arrivals, bestsellers, used books, small press, and gift items. In addition book talks by both local and famous authors are regularly scheduled in the Basil Hallward Gallery. If you are a bibliophile, the rare book room is an exciting place to visit.

See the beauty of the Gorge.

Multnomah Falls and other waterfalls and vistas of the Columbia Gorge are astonishing icons of geology, the sort that have inspired mythology and lore of warriors, gods and passions in every world culture. Meet the tallest waterfall in the state, and a few of the shorter but even more stunning ones, too; falls which could only be the daughters and sons of legend.

Take a half day, or a whole day to experience, explore and meditate on wonders of the overlooks and vistas that will have you gasping in awe. While Multnomah Falls and its iconic Benson Bridge are together the most-visited tourist attraction in the Portland area, they are only a part of the Gorge experience.
